Sing it my friends, the answer is Blowin' in the Wind. . .
The Maryland Chapter and the Beyond Coal Campaign along with a broad coalition of organizations in Maryland are advocating for clean renewable energy to replace our dependency on coal. Offshore wind is Maryland's most abundant energy resource. Offshore wind energy could provide the equivalent of two-thirds the state's current electric load with current technology.
Maryland legislators are considering legislation that would bring offshore wind power to our state. This would bring thousands of jobs to Maryland and help clean up our air. Our state has the opportunity to harness our abundant offshore wind resources to generate the electricity we need to power our homes, schools, and businesses, while protecting the air, water, and natural beauty that make Maryland a place we are proud to call home.
The Maryland Chapter is a leader in the Marylanders for Offshore Wind coalition, which counts over 400 organizations among its supporters including county chambers of commerce, faith groups, unions, small business owners, potential supply chain businesses, minority business advocates, civil rights groups, students, and the state's leading environmental groups.
Marylanders want Offshore Wind Energy now!
