The Valley of the Fox (VOF) Water Sentinels began monitoring the Fox in 1995. With several years of data behind us, we succeeded in interesting the Illinois EPA. From there, a formal project was funded to do more extensive testing, and the VOF moved on to monitoring the inputs to the Fox River, the tributaries in Kane and Kendall Counties. Find out more in Welcome to Valley of the Fox Water Sentinels. See also Water Sentinels Model.

The VOF Annual Water Sentinels meeting will be held March 15 at the North Aurora Library, 9:30AM-12 noon. We will follow the usual format with review of needed training techniques as well as resupply equipment etc. We hope to have a speaker and of course coffee and bagles.
Feb 22, 2014 starts a new year of monitoring. Protocol remains the same. Collect your samples, deliver to Ron's garage by 10AM along with your Field Data Sheet. No later! If you cannot participate on that date, please notify Eric Weck Monitoring Coordinator or Fran Caffee, WS Co-Chair ASAP. We have back up collectors but in all fairness, we need to let them know if they are needed as soon as we can. Remember to pick up new supply of sample cups when you drop off your collection or if you need them before, let me know. No substitute cups accepted. Let's have another good year!!!
