One of the first places I ever went camping, the Cranberry is a beautiful and diverse mix of hardwood forests, alpine balds, rhododendron thickets, red spruce, and trout streams. Its a wonderful wild place not that far from Washington, DC. You can see black bears, white-tailed deer, wild turkeys, grouse, rabbits, mink, birds of prey, bobcats, and foxes. The weather can be wild and unpredictable, you can get frost any month of the year, so it's best to be prepared.
