Located along California’s Mendocino County south coast, the 1,132 acres of Stornetta Public Lands offer breathtaking scenic views, wind-sculpted cypress stands, wildflower meadows and shifting sand dunes. Natural bridges, waterfalls and tide pools are among the many natural wonders that draw visitors to the area’s coastline, beaches and islands. Historically it has been a hotspot for seasonal abalone divers.
Permanent protection of this unique area as an addition to the existing California Coast National Monument will preserve the site while opening opportunities for additional resources to help manage this irreplaceable coastal refuge.
