Volunteer Leader Training
National Outings Training Trip - Desert Backpacking, Apr 20–24, 2016.
Want to lead the trips in Sierra magazine? Then this training is for you! Grow your leadership and desert backpacking skills by leading your peers in the Galiuro Mountains above the giant saguaro cactus forests of the Sonoran Desert and among the huge Arizona cypress trees and towering Douglas firs. Spend your days honing your route finding and desert backpacking skills and your evenings discussing the joys and challenges of trip leading. Prior to the field section, develop your trip planning skills by designing your own “mock” outing in the four months prior to this trip.
