Getting There
Driving is easy as the Park where we’ll gather is easy to find and accessible on good highway. If flying, Fort Smith, Arkansas is served by Delta and American Airlines; and Springfield, Missouri is served by United, Delta, American, and Allegiant Air. Both locations have rental cars available. Participants are encouraged to car-share to save on expense and reduce our carbon footprint. Contact information will be made available well in advance to assist in planning. Please do not make non-refundable travel arrangements until notified to do so by the trip leader

Accommodations and Food
Personal tents will be required; sharing is encouraged to keep our footprint small, following Leave No Trace principles. Food will be vegetarian friendly and we will have all fresh food on the canoeing portion of the trip. The first meal provided will be Sunday breakfast. Participants are required to assist with cooking and other camp duties.
Equipment and Clothing
Weather at this time of year can be unpredictable so your sleeping bag should be comfortable at 25 degrees. Clothing should be layered as daytime temperatures are typically between 50 and 75 degrees and night times can be below freezing, although more typically they will be between 40 and 60 degrees. No cotton clothing. Rain is probable at least one day, though dry, sunshiny weather is also possible for the entire time. Boots should be broken in, but not broken. Participants must supply their own tent, sleeping bag, and personal gear. Flotation devices for the canoe portion of the trip will be supplied as will canoes and paddles.
