Local Outdoors

Thousands of participants go outside on over 15,000 trips led by Sierra Club Chapter and Group leaders every year.

More than 5,000 Sierra Club Local Outings volunteers lead a range of outings that are as diverse as their interests from picnics, day hikes, peak scrambles, community building, bicycling, skiing, paddling, bird-watching, conservation-oriented activities, and forays into the remaining natural areas of our major cities. Some groups offer trips specifically for affinity groups like people living with disabilities, veterans, women, LGTBQIA+ and many outings are done in partnership with community groups. Look for a trip near you!
