At the end of the day, knowing that we have taken a big step to create a better world for our daughter is the only payback I need.

TELL YOUR SOLAR STORY
Renewable energy is one of the most important things we can do for the environment.
When we bought our home last fall, we knew we were going to be living here for a long time. It was our intention to make the space we live in appropriate to the environment, meaning we wanted to use renewable energy as much as possible. I believe that renewable energy is one of the most important things we can do for the environment. I know I might drive people crazy, and maybe I evangelize on this topic to everyone I talk to, but renewable energy and water are very important here in the West. Just about every other issue pales in comparison. Fortunately, I have been surprised by the reaction of my neighbors; almost every one of them wanted a referral for the landscaper (for xeriscaping) and the solar company, Sungevity, for energy information.

I am proud to be a part of the Rooftop Revolution.
I recently finished reading, "Rooftop Revolution" by Danny Kennedy, and I feel really good about choosing a solar company whose owner has been a true advocate for the environment. He has worked on climate issues for more than two decades with Greenpeace, California Clean Energy Now, Project Underground, The Solar Foundation, and Solar Mosaic. I am proud to be a part of the Rooftop Revolution. In July, I generated enough solar energy to offset the greenhouse gas emissions of 459 automobile miles, or 401 lbs of carbon emissions. I think the projection for my 20 year lease is 180,000 automobile miles. I'm on my way.

I am an energy geek who reads my meter everyday anyway, but now when I read my meter, it is running backward!
I knew that I had always wanted to go solar, but it needed to be economical too. I had been keeping an eye on solar trends and knew the price of solar was dropping, but it wasn't until I requested an iQuote from Sungevity that I realized that going solar was financially in reach. It was quick and easy to get a quote and Sungevity was helpful from quote to install. Now that my solar panels are up and running, I just pay a $7.52 monthly account fee to my local utility, and I have a credit of a few hundred kilowatt hours that I can use in the winter months.

I recommend putting in solar as soon as you can!
I put in Solar Electric 14 years ago, a 2kW system, and solar hot water 12 years ago. Both of these systems have performed without upkeep saving both money for my household and resources for the health of the planet.

$0 down and cash back is a good deal.
The Sierra Club's program with Sungevity gave my the push to go solar. In the long run I do not expect SAVE $ with the deal, but I am reducing my use of dirty energy, I am helping an important industry and setting good example for my neighbors. I wish I could do more but it is a start. I hope others join the solar club, we need a culture shift!! Especially in AZ.
