NERC - Energy Issues

Northeast Regional activists on nuclear, pipelines and transmission lines

The Sierra Club Northeast Regional Committee (NERC) is based on commonalities of interests within our geographic region.   These include: energy use, transportation, forest lands, sprawl, coastal and many other concerns.  NERC is composed of the six New England states, New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, plus Quebec and Atlantic Canada Chapters. Our purpose is to prepare environmentalists, major decision-makers and the public in the region to act on the serious problems of pollution, climate change, and waste associated with existing energy production and utilization. Our goal is to speed adoption of measures to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and nuclear power that threaten the well-being of the planet.

Close Seabrook Nuclear Power Plant in NH

The NHSC letter calling for the closure of Seabrrok has been taken down due to my misunderstanding that it had been signed.  My apologiex to all of you for this indiscretion.   Blossom

As we fight pipelines and transmission lines, we are also fighting to close nuclear plants..

MA is also pleased to acknowledge the closure of the Pilgram Nuclear Plant in 2017.

What plants is your chapter working on to close?
