Mauna Kea is the tallest mountain in Hawaii and it's high-elevation forest provides habitat for the endangered palila. We'll help restore and expand the forest and reward ourselves with a trip to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.

Paddle The Wild Neches River (Dallas TX), Mar 13–16, 2014.
This flat water canoe/kayak trip provides an opportunity for solitude while paddling the beautiful Neches River through the heavily wooded Big Thicket National Preserve in southeast Texas. The Neches River is considered by experts to be one of the top 10 flat water rivers in the lower 48 states.
Trips for the Military, Veterans, and their Families
North Carolina Celebration of the Military Child Outdoors, Apr 26, 2014.
April is the month of the military child. Join us as we celebrate our nation’s youngest heroes. This April, partners will join forces to connect military children with the outdoors near Camp Onslow Beach, Lejeune. Families will have access to kayaking, hiking, crafts, camping, and one on one access to some of the areas outdoor organizations. Follow the link for more information.
Volunteer Leader Training
Wilderness First Responder Recertification at Clair Tappaan Lodge in Norden, CA, May 3–5, 2014.
This is a 24-hour Wilderness First Responder Recertification course for current Wilderness First Responders (WFR) who need to recertify and refresh their skills. This class will provide three full days of review and scenarios and will be taught by Bobbie Foster, of Foster Calm -First Aid and Leadership Trainings (contracted by the Sierra Club). While prior CPR certification is preferred, it is not required.
