SAN FRANCISCO – For the 3rd year in a row, the Sierra Club is proud to be a sponsor of the South By Southwest (SXSW) Eco conference. SXSW Eco takes place Monday, October 7 - Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at the Austin Convention Center in Austin, Texas. The Sierra Club will have a wide-ranging presence at the event, leading the first-ever official conference hike at the Bright Leaf Preserve, participating in multiple panel sessions and operating an interactive activation during the Eco Exhibition.
On Tuesday, October 8, Executive Director Michael Brune will take part in Bloomberg BNA’s Policy Action Series, a collection of sessions whose themes have been taken from the National Climate Assessment. The series will bring together key change agents and thought leaders from across the country currently implementing successful programs and policies. Brune’s panel discussing adaptation will be livestreamed on sxsweco.com.
The Sierra Club is also participating in panels on the “Land & Water” and “Behavior, Education, Health” tracks, Keeping Rivers Flowing: Innovative Strategies and Bike Curious? Dutch Style Cycling in the US.
