National Outings Tours and Treks
Stars, Strides, and Shakespeare: A 40+ Women's Adventure in Southern Oregon, Aug 9–15, 2014.
Dayhike through old-growth forests, across meadows, and to rocky peaks and mountain lakes and spend evenings relaxing under the stars. We'll visit Crater Lake, a chocolate confectioner, and a winery, too.
Trips for the Military, Veterans, and their Families
2014 911 Climb: Ptarmigan Traverse, Sep 6–14, 2014.
Sierra Club Military Outdoors Veterans will journey deep into the mountains of the North Cascades of Washington with the Ptarmigan Traverse as our objective. We will press or personal limits in some of the wildest country in the lower 48 in honor of the events of 911 and the following two wars that irrevocably changed our generation.
Volunteer Leader Training
National Outings Training Trip - Lodge-Based Hikes in California, Aug 20–24, 2014.
The National Outings Training Trip is designed to train new Sierra Club National Outings leaders in the trip planning and leadership skills necessary to lead safe, happy and inspiring Sierra Club Outings. Each trainee will plan, design and submit their own National Outing in the months prior to the four-day field section. Subsequent to the training, trainees are expected to lead a National Outing at least once every other year but ideally once a year.
