Rich Mandel has been a Sierra Club member since 1981. He retired after a career in safety and environmental compliance and currently lives in Silver Spring, Maryland. Rich is a graduate of the Sierra Club’s national outdoor leadership training program and is certified in both Wilderness First Aid and Adult CPR. He has been a participant on numerous national outings, including activist, backpack, basecamp, highlight, international, lodge, and service trips. Rich serves as a member of the Montgomery County, Maryland group’s Executive Committee and has been a member of the Board of Directors and treasurer of the Rachel Carson Council since 2003.
