Aleta Beaupied began her backpacking adventures during the summer of 2000. Over the ensuing years she has participated in numerous backpacks in the Sierra Nevada and in other areas within California. She has also backpacked in the Southwest U.S. and done trekking in the European Alps, England, Germany, France, New Zealand, Patagonia, Mongolia, and Costa Rica. She has been a backpack leader with the Sierra Club San Francisco Bay Chapter since 2006 and with National Outings-Knapsack Subcommittee since 2010. As a leader, Aleta claims no special knowledge of flora, fauna or geology. What she loves is the beauty and serenity, and sharing her enjoyment of the wilderness with others.
