Carrie Myers likes nothing better than to set off into the outdoors with a backpack and a map. She’s spent her career enjoying the outdoors, as well as ensuring that it is as accessible as possible to others. While not volunteering for the Sierra Club’s Outings, Carrie’s day job finds her in the field of fund development, raising scholarship funds for youth to participate in Outward Bound Courses. Her favorite part about volunteering for the Sierra Club Outings is the people that she meets on the trip. Learning about the participants' own life adventures is just icing on the cake for beautiful scenery and an amazing mission. While not on the trail Carrie enjoys life with her dogs, cats, kids and amazing wife in Black Mountain, North Carolina.
