Catherine Mongeon grew up visiting national parks from the backseat of her family’s station wagon. An enthusiastic car camper and hiker, Catherine didn’t discover backpacking until she moved to California where she fell in love with the Sierra while studying environmental law at UC Berkeley. Catherine joined the Sierra Club Outings leader program in 2018 and is certified in CPR, and Wilderness First Aid.
