Charlie McTiernan has backpacked through state and national parks for over 40 years. His backpacking and day-hiking travels have included the Grand Canyon, Glacier National Park, Yosemite, the John Muir Trail, Denali National Park, White Mountains, sections of the Appalachian Trail, and numerous state parks. As he now enters retirement from an academic research career, Charlie looks forward to spending more time in a leadership roles on national outings and experiencing the outdoors that he loves, sharing the experience with fellow hikers, and working to preserve these resources for future generations.
