Cindy Mahoney became a Sierra Club member in 2014. She has resided in the Midwest for over 20 years and has been long-distance day hiking since the fall of 2013. She started backpacking in 2014 and has been on dozens of backpacking trips since then. She has backpacked in Canada, Arizona, Colorado, Oklahoma, Missouri, Arkansas, and Nebraska. She is wilderness first-aid certified. One of her favorite hobbies is dehydrating and freeze-drying meals for backpacking. She is a Master Gardener and loves exploring in the great outdoors.
