Dan Pettit has lived in the Chicago area since the early 90s but travels at every opportunity to experience deep canyons, soaring peaks and diverse cultures around the world. An avid backpacker, kayaker and cross-country skier, Dan became enamored with Sierra Club Outings program in 2006 as a participant and then a leader in 2010. His international travels have taken him to over 30 countries, from the heights of the Tibetan plateau to the depths of the Grand Canyon. Dan has a deep interest in helping others explore the planet in order to help protect and preserve these fragile places.
