David Neumann

Dave Neumann took his first backpack trip into the Sierra at age eight with his father and has been backpacking ever since. He enjoys hiking with like-minded individuals to experience the grandeur and solitude of the high mountains and stark deserts. He is retired from a thirty-five year career in public school teaching, coaching and administration in Idaho and Alaska. Dave is passionate about sharing the wilderness experience with young people. He is Wilderness First Responder certified and has backpacked extensively in the western states. When not backpacking, Dave spends his winters and early spring as a National Park Service volunteer in the deserts of the southwestern U.S.
