Debra DiBiase lives in San Jose, Calif., where she searches in vain to find an outdoor activity she doesn’t enjoy. She has led trips for Sierra Club’s Inner City Outings for the past 10 years and has grown, cooked and preserved food for groups big and small since she was a girl. She considers the preparation and presentation of tasty, nutritious meals to be edible performance art. Backcountry service trips are a great way for her to exercise brain and body, meet wonderful people, and help care for the wild places she loves so much.
