A San Francisco Bay Area native, Evangelita (Vangie) Crump grew up with a passion for exploring the outdoors. Backpacking in the Grand Canyon furthered that passion. Vangie joined the Sierra Club National Outings as a leader in 2013. When Vangie is not leading a trip she can be found outdoors, backpacking in Southwest desert canyons or in California’s Sierra Nevada. In addition, Vangie enjoys leading trips because it allows her to combine her two personal passions: backpacking and food preparation (especially with wholesome organic foods). She is certified as a Wilderness First Responder.
