Gayle Labraña has camped, hiked, and backpacked though out the western United States since childhood. She has hiked the John Muir Trail, and spends many weeks in the Sierra each year. She takes weekly hikes on the local trails of coastal California. She was a Peace Corps volunteer in Ecuador, working on family health and home businesses. Gayle is a retired middle school English and Social Studies teacher. She is a Wilderness First Responder and trained in CPR and Wilderness Navigation.
