Hurston Roberts grew up on the Gulf Coast of Florida where he developed a passion for nature and the outdoors. As a teenager he developed outdoor skills such as hiking, snorkeling, camping and water skiing. Hurston’s desire to explore the world led him to travel completely around the globe by the time he was 20. In Hawaii, he became involved in the local Sierra Club and learned about the need to protect the diminishing wild places he loved so much. His passion for the outdoors eventually led him to volunteer to lead outings for the Sierra Club. He now lives on the Eastern slope of the Sierra between Lake Tahoe and Reno, Nevada. When not leading Sierra Club trips, Hurston enjoys exploring the Sierra Nevada and kayaking on Lake Tahoe.
