John Lasseter

John Lasseter

John Lasseter has been a certified Wilderness First Responder and a volunteer trip leader with the Sierra Club since 2010. Since his first backpacking trip in 1993, he has spent hundreds of nights in wild areas of the Pacific Northwest, Basin and Range, Alaskan Arctic, Sierra Nevada, Rockies, Scottish Highlands, upper Midwest, and most recently, the mountains of New England and upstate New York.  An escaped college professor, he now supports project and curriculum development in the Cornell Computer Science department. For life itself, he has wonderful friends, a brilliant and loving partner, and is a father and stepfather to two fabulous children, 21 years apart in age. He’ll try hard not to be overwhelming with his enthusiasm for, well, everything, but you should know that it isn’t easy.
