Julie Koivula

Julie Koivula joined the Sierra Club after college. She is retired from teaching and coaching at the high school level and being a Red Cross Instructor. She has always loved the outdoors and in high school called herself “the mud rover." Julie likes to hike, bike, canoe, kayak, ski, tennis, golf, and garden. She now leads and assists on a variety of Sierra Club outings. She leads for the Midwest, Rocky Mountain, Southwest, Northwest, and Northeast Subcommittees. She leads a variety of trips: lodge day hiking, canoeing, service, biking, and archaeological trips. She enjoys mentoring new leaders. She was previously Midwest Outings Subcommittee Co-Chair and now is National Outings Co-Chair. She has her Wilderness First Aid and CPR certificates.
