Leah Madoff has been hiking, backpacking and skiing for decades in the Sierra, the Pacific Northwest, the Rockies, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, and the Catskills. She is a middle school science teacher when she is not busy walking or jogging with her dog in the hills above her home in Portland, Oregon. She is trained as a Wilderness First Responder and leads hiking trips with her students during the school year. An avid vegetarian cook, Leah loves to experiment in the home kitchen, as well as on her MSR stove. Leah is related only to law-abiding, non-infamous Madoffs.
