Matthew Rosefsky

Matthew Rosefsky

When Mateo Rosefsky moved to Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains in 2000, he became an avid outdoor adventurer.  While attending grad school at the Univ. of Virginia, he discovered passions for exercising in nature and inviting others to join in, and co-founded UVA Outdoors. After graduation, he founded and managed an outdoor guide service for 8 years.  Along the way he became and still serves as Wilderness Medicine Instructor-Trainer for MEDIC SOLO. In all, Mateo has guided over 500 outdoor adventures, including backpacking, canoeing, caving, hiking, horseback trail riding, indoor rock climbing, snow skiing, and snowshoe backpacking. Frequent wilderness expeditions continuously heighten Mateo's commitment to environmental preservation and stewardship.
