Michelle Stewart has been a hiking enthusiast for most of her life, having inherited a love of the outdoors from her grandfather who was a bird and butterfly enthusiast. While she was navigating large ships for a living, she learned about stars and constellations, and loves to share this info with the help of a green laser. Michelle has also worked as a marine meteorologist and is happy to discuss big waves, El Niño, or the weather in general. She has been leading hiking and camping trips for a Houston outdoor group for several years and has been leading Sierra Club service trips since 2019.
