Nancy Mathison

Nancy Mathison went on her first Sierra Club outing in 2001 to venture off the beaten path, and meet other backpackers who share her love for adventure and the wild, pristine beauty of California’s Sierra Nevada. So inspired by that trip, she has led over 40 Sierra Club trips throughout the Sierra, Alaska, Grand Canyon and Europe. She enjoys sharing wilderness adventures and the joy of discovery with the wonderful people she meets on the trips. She is a certified Wilderness First Responder, on the training staff for new leaders and gives presentations for the Los Padres Chapter Wilderness Basics Course. A professional clarinetist, Nancy lives in Santa Barbara, California where she enjoys weekly hikes in the mountains near her home.
