Reid Bengard discovered backpacking as a way to escape crowded campgrounds in the mid 90s and has rarely turned back. With his pack, Reid has explored places from Catalina Island in the West to sections of the Appalachian Trail in the East and from Anza-Borrego in Southern California to Alaska. Recently retired, Reid enjoys helping repair and build houses for Habitat for Humanity of Ventura County, exploring peaks, mountain biking, and serving the whims of his wife and dogs.
