Richard Clowdus returned to backpacking with a Sierra Club trip after a lengthy hiatus, having first experienced the northern Sierra in Boy Scouts. He’s been on several Sierra Club trips in the Sierra, the Rocky Mountains, and the Southwest as a participant and leader, as well as several private and solo backpacking trips, and finished "section-hiking" the California portion of the Pacific Crest Trail in 2017. Trained as a Sierra Club leader in 2013, he enjoys sharing his perspective on the natural environment with others out in the wild. He lives in Sacramento, California.
