Certified as a Wilderness First Responder, Richard Fite has led trips for the Sierra Club National Outings Program for over twenty years. Richard has specialized in desert backpacking on the Navajo Nation in Arizona and Utah where he led or assisted on over 40 trips and where he pioneered several new backpack trips for the Outings Program. After a long career with the federal government, Richard is enjoying retirement in southern New Hampshire where he continues an active lifestyle with hiking, bicycling, and kayaking. He also enjoys photography and playing the French horn.
