Robert Lowe attended his first Sierra Club backpack trip over 40 years ago and has been a Club member for about as long. After a hiatus from Sierra Club activities during the peak years of his career as a researcher, he has participated in more than a dozen national outings in the last decade, including family outings, lodge trips, basecamps, and backpack trips. Motivated both by the beauty of the outdoors and by the close relationships that develop on Sierra Club trips, he began leading trips in 2015. His other interests include spirituality and issues of social justice.
