Steve Kennedy

Steve Kennedy has been leading trips for the Sierra Club since 2019 including hiking in the mountains of the North Cascades, the Stehekin area of Washington State, and the Glacier Peak Wilderness . He has been a Sierra Club member since 1984. Steve has lived in Seattle since 1981 and has hiked, camped, and backpacked extensively in Washington, including the North Cascades, Mt. Rainier, and Olympic National Parks. He has served as a volunteer ranger for the Park Service at Mt. Rainier National Park. He is excited to share his love of the wilderness with others. Steve grew up in Southern California, hiking and backpacking in the Sierras, deserts, and the Coastal California/Big Sur backcountry. He is a professional urban planner and for over 20 years worked for Sound Transit in Seattle, as an environmental manager developing a new light rail system for Puget Sound, powered by renewable energy.
