Talia Kornzweig grew up exploring the urban nature of Los Angeles with her family and local Sierra Club chapter. After her first Sierra Club Teen Outing at fourteen, she became hooked on exploring the California Sierra. Talia returned to Teen Outings for two summers and began to lead independent backpacking trips for her family in the Sequoia & Kings Canyon Wilderness. Since 2021, she’s organized trips exploring Mineral King, Evolution Valley, and the Ansel Adams Wilderness. Her curiosity and creativity guide her process of creating challenging routes and innovative backpacking recipes. Talia loves to share the trail with others and is passionate about creating more visibility for people of color in wilderness leadership and stewardship.
