Tom Hurst lives on a small farm in Sodus, Michigan where he operates a homeschool learning center teaching sustainable agriculture, woodworking, and outdoor education. He has led educational and scientific research trips all around the Great Lakes and Midwest and has hiked, backpacked, paddled, and peddled in many areas of the U.S. and Canada. A perpetual maker of stuff and grower of food with a passion for experiential education, Tom enjoys the shared sense of mission on backcountry and service trips.
