Tom Miller

Tom Miller enjoys exploring our planet’s diverse habitats. For example, his first Sierra Club outing was as a participant on a backpacking trip to the Arctic Wildlife Refuge in Alaska, where he saw a literal “parade” of tens of thousands of caribou, a herd of muskox and the elusive wolverine. Tom backpacks for several weeks each summer in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California, his home state. He also enjoys more distant travel, having trekked in Nepal, New Zealand, Patagonia and Scotland, as well as exploring rich tropical habitats such as in Costa Rica. Since 2006 Tom has shared his enthusiasm for nature and the outdoors as a volunteer leader for Sierra Club national outings. Tom is a Wilderness First Responder, certified by NOLS.
