Today, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced it is nearly doubling the funding for clean school buses after an overwhelming demand for the pollution-free vehicles. School districts from all 50 states, including in low-income communities, Tribal nations, and territories, applied for the 2022 Clean School Bus rebates. Over 90 percent of applicants requested zero-emission electric school buses.

Columbus, OH - Today, Physicians for Social Responsibility (PSR) released a report that shows that a class of extremely toxic chemicals known as PFAS has been used in Ohio’s oil and gas wells since at least 2013. Due to gaps in Ohio’s disclosure rules, the full extent of the use of PFAS in oil and gas drilling and extraction may have been concealed from regulators and the public and as a result Ohio communities may unknowingly be exposed to highly hazardous substances.

Today, in the midst of National Drive Electric Week, the Sierra Club, Clean AIRE NC, NC League of Conservation Voters, Southern Alliance for Clean Energy, NC Conservation Network and the NC Justice Center released a report of independent modeling and analysis of the state of North Carolina’s electric vehicle charging infrastructure and the significant benefits of the state transitioning away from fossil fuel vehicles to electric ones.
