HARRISBURG, Pa. -- Today, the Sierra Club Pennsylvania Chapter joined with PennFuture, Clean Air Council, and Environmental Defense Fund to file appeals to the Commonwealth Court’s ruling earlier this month that blocked the state from joining the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI). Governor Josh Shapiro appealed the ruling last week.

Dover, DE – Delaware has joined eleven other states that have adopted the Advanced Clean Cars II (ACC II) rule to become a leader in clean transportation. Regulators announced today that Delaware will be moving forward with the rule that sets gradual new electric vehicle (EV) sales targets reaching 82% through model year 2032. Delaware, having previously adopted state clean car standards, is for the first time adopting a zero-emission vehicle sales target. Delaware will officially be the first state to make such a leap in policy.

Phoenix, AZ – Today, in an egregious move that undermines public process and transparency, the Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC) approved a major expansion of Arizona Public Service Company’s (APS) gas-fired Sundance power plant without allowing any public comment. Several organizations, including Sierra Club, Chispa Arizona, Western Resource Advocates, Western Clean Energy Campaign, and Western Grid Group expressed concerns about the project and several requested to comment at the Commission’s Nov.

HELENA, MT — In an important victory for clean water, the Montana Supreme Court ruled on November 22, 2023, that the Montana Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) repeatedly ignored the law and failed to protect water quality from an expansion of the “Area B” permit area of the Rosebud coal strip mine near Colstrip, one of the largest coal strip mines in the nation.
