SEATTLE, WA — Climate and health organizations submitted letters today to the CEOs of the Washington-based Puget Sound Energy (PSE) and Avista Utilities urging them to reconsider their membership with American Gas Association (AGA). The trade association is notorious for obstructing climate policy and spreading misinformation on the health risks from methane gas.
Today, Gov. Cooper vetoed the Regulatory Reform Act of 2023 known as HB600 that, if passed, would benefit polluting entities at the expense of North Carolina’s water quality and vulnerable communities.
TEMPE, AZ -- Today the Salt River Project (SRP) Board of Directors voted to approve its Integrated System Plan (ISP) strategies which will guide how the utility plans to generate its power. The Department of Energy (DOE) released its final rule setting Congressionally-mandated energy efficiency standards for gas furnaces, which will reduce air pollution and lower gas utility bills by $1.5 billion annually. The standard, which had not been meaningfully updated since it was first set by Congress in 1987, will apply to new gas furnaces on the market starting in 2028.
