In a new report released earlier this week, Morningstar found that Vanguard’s support for ESG resolutions is half that of its rivals BlackRock and State Street. Morningstar examined 100 “key” resolutions at S&P 100 companies filed over a two-year period ending on March 31, 2023. Morningstar defined a “key” resolution as one that is supported by at least 40% of a company’s independent shareholders.

St. Louis, MO – Today, the Missouri Public Service Commission (PSC) approved an agreement between interveners and Ameren Missouri to increase electric rates by $140 million annually, down from the $316 million the state’s largest monopoly electric utility applied for last year.

AUGUSTA, ME – The Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) will consider two new clean vehicle standards that will provide Mainers with cleaner air and greater access to zero-emission cars and trucks. Adopting the standards, known as the Advanced Clean Cars II and Advanced Clean Trucks rules, will help meet the growing demand for electric vehicles and ensure Mainers have access to a greater number of models, helping to lower sticker prices and hasten the transition away from expensive and polluting gas-powered cars and trucks.

Washington, DC - Today, a coalition of environmental organizations filed a lawsuit against the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for failing to enforce the Regional Haze Rule required by the Clean Air Act. Despite its mandate to approve or reject state haze plans within 18 months, EPA has failed to act on Regional Haze plans submitted by Kansas, Massachusetts, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Texas and Wisconsin.
