William Loker

Bill Loker

Bill Loker is an anthropologist by training whose research interests are focused on environmental issues associated with international development, as well as environmental issues in the US. He grew up in the big city (Washington, DC) and discovered camping and the great outdoors as a teenager. He has backpacked and hiked throughout the Western US and loves exploring the diverse ecosystems of mountain, desert, coast and canyons.  Bill thinks that connecting directly and personally with nature through service is key to changing our individual and collective practices to preserve the Earth for our children and grandchildren. Bill currently lives in Northern California and served on the City of Chico’s Sustainability Task Force. He enjoys exploring the nearby mountains and supporting the Sierra Club’s mission of environmental stewardship.
