Deni Lopez enjoys volunteering as Sierra Club National Outings trip leader. Since retiring she has spent as much time as possible traveling domestically and internationally. On these trips she strives to find places ‘off the beaten path,' to learn about the local geography and culture of the area. In addition to traveling, Deni loves the outdoors and is passionate about protecting outdoor spaces. As a youth she spent summers working for Youth and Conservation Corps, building trails and clearing brush. As a teacher she developed and guided her students on numerous camping and environmental adventures. In addition, she made teaching agriculture, the environment, and conservation a strong part of her curriculum. She looks forward to sharing this love of the outdoors and concern for the environment with participants of fellow Sierra Club members on National Outing trips.
