A proud Washington native, Laura Mitchell grew up on Whidbey Island. She’s a daughter of the Cascades, the Olympics, and the Salish Sea. Laura’s love of the outdoors was nurtured by camping across the state of Washington throughout her youth. Laura now fills her weekends with camping, hiking, backpacking, canyoning, climbing, and conserving her beloved wild places. During the school year Laura is on the leadership team for Seattle ICO, working to get students involved in the outdoors. In 2018, she led three teens on her first Sierra Club service trip in the Wind River range of Wyoming. Laura is passionate about international and U.S. travel, and has maintained a current Wilderness First Responder certification since January 2016.
