John Kovacevic of Cleveland, Ohio, has been leading Sierra Club Outings for over a decade. Whether for a few hours, a day, or a week, John gets on the water to kayak as often as he can. He is certified as a Wilderness First Responder, has completed many water rescue and kayak instructor courses, and received awards in 2014, 2016, and 2019 for being one of Sierra Club's top guides. John has also served as both a finance officer and a committee chair for the Southeast Subcommittee. His focus is on land and river corridor preservation, river and beach clean ups, and improving the water quality of our nation's waterways. John looks forward to sharing some amazing places with you that he has discovered, as well as finding some new ones. On John's outings, you can expect cozy lodging, great meals, scenic and unique paddling, inspirational landscapes, and a family type atmosphere.
