Overview

The Trip

Hike the dynamic interface of land and sea in Oregon, a world rich in wildflowers, intertidal life, nesting birds, marine mammals, and human history. Starting in Manzanita and ending in Astoria at the vast Columbia River estuary, we will walk in ancient forests atop high bluffs, explore beaches and bays, and investigate tidepools exposed only during the spring minus tides. This trip will focus on natural history, and the pace of hikes will include frequent pauses to watch birds, identify wildflowers, and examine anything of interest.
